Job summary

The New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.

The incumbent will develop and deliver lectures, use Canvas, meet with students outside class, and assist with grading and communications with the program director. This is a part-time, per-contact-hour position. EEO employer.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD degree in related fields, or relative experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lectures, organize in-class activities relevant to course material, prepare and grade assignments and exams to assess student achievement.
• Learn to use Canvas, NJIT’s online course management system.
• Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
• Review grades with the Undergraduate Program Director and submit grades to the registrar at the end of the semester.
• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
