Job summary

Ellwood Quality Steels Company in New Castle, PA seeks a Chemist for its Chemistry Lab to ensure accuracy of analytical equipment and perform chemical analysis of final steel samples. The role supports QA, maintenance of instruments, and daily reporting. Travel to customers/conferences may be required.

Bachelor’s in Chemistry preferred; experience in a metal lab with QA emphasis is highly regarded. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.
• Experience in a chemistry lab environment with emphasis on laboratory quality assurance.
• Experience prepping and analyzing solid metal samples.
• X-ray analysis experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory analytical equipment.
• Performs chemical analysis of final steel samples, VAR/ESR samples, VIM chemistry samples, and product checks.
• Performs maintenance and standardization of analytical equipment.
• Completes daily reporting tasks: production, hydrogen, chemistry.
• Prepares samples for testing.
• Travel (local, national, international) as required to customers, conferences and other facilities.
