Job summary

Amentum is seeking a chemistry-lab oriented professional to perform rigorous research, analysis, and reporting at our Quantico facility. The role involves applying chemical markings and detection techniques, evaluating vendor reports, and supporting field collection and analysis, all under a TS/CI Polygraph-clearance requirement.

Essential qualifications include a B.S. in chemistry or a related field and at least two years in a laboratory setting.

• 2 years working in a laboratory environment.
• Top Secret with ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
• Familiarity with spectroscopy and spectral processing software.

Responsibilities include using a range of techniques, software and equipment to carry out scientifically rigorous research, analysis, and reporting.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include applying knowledge of and experience with chemical markings and detection techniques tailored to the specific requirements.
• Identify and utilize materials and detection systems that meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate technical reports from outside vendors for suitability to meet customer requirements.
• Support field collection and analysis requirements.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• B.S. in Chemistry or similar field
• 2 years working in a laboratory environment

Security Clearance Required

• Top Secret with ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with spectroscopy.
• Work experience with material markings, spectral analysis, and optical filtration techniques.
• Familiarity with spectroscopy, or a closely related field.
• Laboratory experience using spectroscopic techniques for analysis and identification of materials.
• Experience with ENVI+IDL image and spectral processing software.
