Location: Apopka, FL 32703 (on-site 5 days)

Responsibilities:
- Perform complex chemical analysis on raw ingredients, intermediates, beverage parts, final products, auxiliary materials, and water.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation (e.g., troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair).
- Inspect laboratory procedures to ensure conformance to internal quality systems or external certification requirements, and correct or eliminate process-related non-conformance items.
- Dispose of expired retained samples and chemicals according to schedules and expiration dates to keep the lab area clean and safe.
- Develop or validate laboratory test methods or equipment (sampling, monitoring, analytical procedures) to ensure reliable and accurate results, including capability studies.
- Perform data audits to ensure accuracy of data and analytical processes, including database queries, statistical process control, or correlation studies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Expertise in Advanced Analytical Chemistry techniques (e.g., GC, GC/MS, MS) and the ability to apply appropriate techniques to a broad range of problems.
- General knowledge of organic chemistry related to essential oils and flavor compounds relevant to the company's products.
- Knowledge of data in the Formula Management System, including reasonable value ranges, calculations, and the ability to recognize inconsistencies. Ability to enter formulas and generate reports.
- Understanding of inorganic substances used in products and research on ingredient stability, including composition, structure, and properties.
Top Skills:
- Preferred: Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biology, or Biotech (not required).
- Experience in analytical work, preferably in a lab setting (professional or academic).
- Responsible for qualitative and quantitative testing of raw materials and finished goods, sample preparation for HPLC-MS and/or GC-MS testing, and SDS testing (e.g., flash point, corrosivity).
- Adherence to SOPs and safety standards, proper PPE use, chemical inventory management, and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
