Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Chemist II to maintain a safe laboratory environment and perform analyses using TOC, conductivity, nitrates, FTIR, chromatography, and in-process testing. The role supports QC equipment validation and calibration with minimal supervision, ensuring CGMP and FDA compliance.

The position is contract-based and based in Bedford, OH, onsite, with a pay rate of $28.85/hr. Requires a Bachelor's in science and 2+ years in a similar role, strong teamwork, and instrument

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar role, preferably cGMP.
• Strong understanding of CGMP and FDA lab requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Troubleshoot basic lab instruments with minimal guidance.
• Proficient with existing lab systems.

Responsibilities

• Qualify laboratory equipment by authoring and executing IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and reports.
• Conduct testing to support method validation/verification, method transfer, routine and non-routine testing.
• Coordinate and manage progression of lab test data, SOPs, test procedures, and reports.
• Review and approve lab test data, SOPs, test procedures, validation protocols, and reports.
• Perform routine lab cleaning in preparation for inspections and ensure good housekeeping.
• Execute test methods per regulatory guidance (USP/EP) using appropriate protocols.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose continuous improvement ideas for QC Laboratory.
• Document all work per current Good Documentation Practices and cGLPs.
• Recommend preventive and corrective actions for non-conformances and quality system activities.
