Job summary
Suffolk County Department of Health in Hauppauge seeks a Chemist II to perform complex testing and analyses of drinking water, surface and ground waters, sewage, marine water, and other substances suspected of causing a public health hazard.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 16 chemistry credit hours incl Organic Chemistry and 3 years professional experience in chemical analysis.
- Experience with HPLC/UPLC and LC/MS/MS instruments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, test, and analyze environmental samples using modern laboratory equipment.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and proficiency testing.
- Review and update SOPs; maintain supplies; supervise/instruct staff as needed.
