A leading international life sciences company in Tustin, CA, seeks a Chemist I to perform testing activities while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Ideal candidates should have a B.S. in Chemistry or related field and familiarity with HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry techniques. This is an entry to mid-level position with extensive growth opportunities, residing locally in Southern California is preferred.

The Chemist I performs testing activities as directed by Department Manager/Supervisor in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory guidelines to ensure that quoted turnaround times are met in support of monograph testing, unknown/failure analysis and other areas.
The Chemist I receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to, the Department Manager/Supervisor, or appointed designate, for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the laboratory.
