Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Critically evaluate and audit data in accordance with SOPs.
  • Write technical analytical reports and procedures.
  • Perform routine testing with a senior mentor analyst.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Perform pharmaceutical testing including, but not limited to, HPLC, GC, TLC, UV, dissolution and IR spectroscopy.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and perform testing in accordance with all pertinent SOPs and lab practices.
  • Critically evaluate and audit data.
  • Write technical analytical reports and procedures.
  • Perform routine testing with a senior level mentor analyst.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience.
  • However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Must possess knowledge of analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical industry practice, and health authority regulations and guidances.
  • Must possess strong analytical laboratory skills.
  • Must possess strong communication and reading skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Must be able to effectively operate a computer based data acquisition system for chromatography.
  • Must be able to multi-task to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
  • Ability to present to a group of departments.
  • Ability to perform computations such as percentages, ratios, and rates.
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
Physical requirements:
  • Typically sitting at a desk or table.
  • Intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping.
  • May be required to bend; kneel; and climb steps.
  • May require use of hands and use of arms.
  • Light lifting requirements.
  • Normal laboratory situation.
  • Regular exposure to chemicals, solvents, fumes, and/or gasses.
  • Works with poor ventilation or with regular exposure to odors.

Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
