Job description

Responsibilities of the role:

Conduct high-quality analytical lab work that is needed for development, commercialization, industrialization, or troubleshooting of products by performing the following tasks:

  1. Analysis of routine and non-routine R&D, customer, and plant samples.
  2. Contribute to analytical method development and improvement.
  3. Log samples in and out.
  4. Communicate analytical results to internal and external customers.
  5. Data entry (Excel) and analysis.
  6. Help with safety equipment testing, as needed.
  7. Laboratory measurements (titration, pH, viscosity, acid value, hydroxyl value, etc).
  8. Perform instrumental analyses as needed, including GC, GC/MS, GPC, IR, DSC, DMA, ICP, etc.
  9. Good laboratory notebook practice.
  10. Maintain housekeeping in individual and shared work areas.
  11. Maintain lab equipment through preventative maintenance, verification, and calibration. Report any equipment malfunctions.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of a BS in Chemistry or related science.
  2. 1-3 years’ experience with composites preferred.
  3. Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively.
  4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Critical and analytical thinking.
