Job summary

A leading rubber and plastic solutions provider in Tallmadge, Ohio, is seeking a candidate with a strong background in rubber compounding and chemical analysis. The ideal applicant will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, three years of related experience, and a passion for solving rubber and polymer problems. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degrees in engineering (Chemical, Materials, and/or Polymer preferred) are advantageous.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in formulations and compounding environment.
  • Experience in the rubber/plastics industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and analyzing chemical compound formulations and properties.
  • Reducing overall material cost and waste through formulation and process improvements.
  • Writing manufacturing specifications for compounds, materials, and mixing instructions.
  • Providing technical support to the Quality organization and customers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in rubber compounding, chemical analysis, physical/mechanical testing, management and consulting in various segments of the rubber industry. This position requires the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment interacting with customers on the phone, in‑person and via email.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, required; candidates with degrees in engineering (Chemical, Materials, and/or Polymer, preferred) and candidates with related science concentrations (Chemistry and/or Physics) will also be considered. At least three years of relevant experience in formulations and compounding environment; candidates with co‑op/internship experience and/or experience in the rubber/plastics industry preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Developing, maintaining, analyzing chemical compound formulations and properties as well as chemical interactions.
  • Reducing overall material cost and waste through formulation and process improvements.
  • Writing manufacturing specifications for compounds, materials, and mixing instructions.
  • Providing technical support to the Quality organization and to various customers to ensure their product performance requirements are met.
