Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Chemist for a 2-year on-site role in Irvine, CA. The incumbent will conduct formulation projects with the SkinMedica team, creating laboratory batches and performing experiments to support product development.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of cosmetic formulation experience, strong lab skills (stability, pH, viscosity, microscopy), and is capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. GMP/GLP familiarity is expected.

Qualifications

• Able to make lab batches for skincare products: emulsion type, gel, serum and cleanser
• General lab skill: stability, pH, viscosity, microscope, and MS office
• 1-3 years of cosmetic/skincare formulation/batching experience

Description

This position will be responsible for conducting formulation projects in collaboration with staff scientists of the SkinMedica product and process development team.

The individual will create laboratory batches, perform experiments, manage raw material inventories, conduct sample testing and analysis (including but not limited to stability, package functionality, etc.), and support pilot/scale-up documentation and activities.

Qualifications

• One to three years or more experience in topical cosmetic/OTC formulations is required
• Possess a good overall working knowledge of common laboratory methods and has experience operating laboratory equipment and process knowledge is required to make formulation batches
• Good communication skills
• Attention to details & good documentation & organizational skills
• Familiar with GMP/GLP
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and to manage multiple projects
• Team player with positive mindset
• Experience in scale-up and manufacturing would be a plus.
