Job Summary:

As a Dispatcher for Action Resources, you will grow and develop a profitable and successful chemical/waste transportation operation. Your responsibilities include coordinating and managing loads to remain cost-effective, working with dispatchers and Terminal Managers to increase fleet productivity and efficiency, and supporting drivers across all markets with a primary focus on their assigned market.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Focus on key operational areas: Safety, Service, Revenue, Assets, and Costs.
  • Implement and support all company quality and safety improvement efforts enthusiastically.
  • Interact with internal and external customers cooperatively; ensure high-quality customer service and foster positive relationships with drivers.
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude; promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Support change related to processes, structure, and business modeling.
  • Participate in retaining, recruiting, and hiring drivers; treat drivers fairly, respectfully, and honestly.
  • Coordinate daily terminal activities including customer order acceptance, data entry, asset management, and schedule preparation; ensure meeting dispatch and terminal objectives.
  • Handle escalations and time-sensitive issues effectively; perform transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Identify process issues and develop improvement plans collaboratively.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for work issues, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Engage in self-development and learn the details of our business for potential growth into greater responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in transportation preferred.
  • Experience in transportation preferred.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Software (e.g., TMW, McLeod).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
