Job summary

KLA is seeking a Chemist/Materials Technician for its Totowa, NJ site. You will monitor chemical processes, set up and maintain lab instruments, and manage chemical orders and inventory for Manufacturing and R&D.

You’ll ensure safety, calibration, and proper documentation while supporting shipment readiness and waste handling. The role requires a chemistry degree with 1+ year of chemical handling experience and knowledge of analytical techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry required or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience handling chemicals
• Knowledge of analytical techniques (titration, conductivity, pH, UV, ICP) beneficial
• Experience with planning, procuring and inventory management of chemicals
• Understanding SDS/MSDS and shipping requirements for chemicals
• Collaborate with multiple departments to avoid delays in chemical management
• Participation in waste management activities

Responsibilities

• Monitor chemical processes and test product quality to standards
• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Order chemicals for MFG and R&D; maintain inventory
• Prepare chemicals per MFG demand and customer orders
• Ensure calibration and proper functioning of equipment
• Properly document SDS/Hazards labels and waste management
• Move and handle chemical containers safely
• Prepare shipment readiness documents for chemicals outbound
• Participate in safety programs and audits
