Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Chemical, Environmental and Biological (CEB) Regulatory Affairs, the Chemical Regulatory Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Chemical Regulatory team under the Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) organization. She/he will lead a global team of chemical regulatory professionals to set, develop, establish, and implement the business strategies by providing chemical regulatory guidance and input to ensure Agilent chemical products are designed, manufactured, and distributed in compliance with national, regional, and global chemical regulatory requirements. She/he will lead the execution of chemical regulatory responsibilities, in accordance with global chemical regulatory policies and processes, and ensure chemical regulatory support across all divisions within Agilent.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Chemical, Environmental and Biological (CEB) Regulatory Affairs, the Chemical Regulatory Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Chemical Regulatory team under the Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) organization. She/he will lead a global team of chemical regulatory professionals to set, develop, establish, and implement the business strategies by providing chemical regulatory guidance and input to ensure Agilent chemical products are designed, manufactured, and distributed in compliance with national, regional, and global chemical regulatory requirements. She/he will lead the execution of chemical regulatory responsibilities, in accordance with global chemical regulatory policies and processes, and ensure chemical regulatory support across all divisions within Agilent.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish chemical regulatory strategies with the goal to maximize successful, expedient, and compliant chemical regulatory activities in worldwide jurisdictions. Work closely with supporting divisions to define chemical regulatory compliance strategies that support new market access objectives and the success of New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Lead and develop a team of Chemical Regulatory Affairs professionals in areas such as HazCom management, SDS and GHS labeling review and management, NPI support, and product life cycle support activities.
  • Develop and implement tools, programs, and processes to ensure Agilent chemical products are safe, legal, in compliance with applicable chemical regulations, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Provides expertise in translating chemical regulatory requirements into practical, workable plans. Works closely with business quality to ensure these requirements are clearly built into the NPI and change control processes.
  • Work closely with supporting divisions to ensure chemical products are successfully launched and in compliance with the applicable chemical regulations in the addressed markets.
  • Develop and implement the chemical product NPI and product life cycle (PLC) RA support metrics to ensure the RA resources are appropriately allocated and chemical regulatory compliance strategies and reporting requirements are fully implemented.
  • Work closely with the Regulatory Intelligence team to ensure the new or changing chemical regulations are fully assessed and successfully implemented.
  • Represent the CEB team at regulatory and business meetings as the chemical regulatory expert.
  • Work closely with CEB RA Director and other GRA leaders to act as the change agent and establish the customer-centric culture as strong advocate in Chemical Regulatory team.
  • Represent the company in industry associations and standards bodies and may interact with chemical regulatory agencies.
  • Manage a team of Chemical Regulatory Affairs professionals, with a focus on team and talent development, employee engagement, and leading diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide regulatory guidance relative to managing chemical regulatory inspections and appropriately responding to any requests and inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent with strong background of chemical knowledge.
  • 8+ years of experience working on chemical product regulatory compliance.
  • 2+ years of experience formally or informally leading people, projects and/or programs.
  • Must have an expert knowledge of worldwide chemical regulations, including understanding of GHS, Dangerous Goods, US TSCA, EU REACH, China Hazardous Chemicals and New Chemical Substance Registration, Korea REACH, and other applicable requirements.
  • Strong track record of providing regulatory compliance support for chemical product NPI and life cycle management.
  • Must have an expert knowledge of Enterprise Compliance Software Solutions, preferably with a strong track record of implementing the SDS, GHS, and Chemical Database-related software.
  • Familiarity with Agilent products and the markets Agilent serves.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $124,160.00 - $232,800.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
