About Cobalt & Specialty Materials

Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. What you will be doing

As our Chemical Production Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing, packaging, and labelling various chemical products. Specifically, this will include:

  1. Reviewing batch sheets and instructions;
  2. Weighing and staging chemicals;
  3. Preparing chemicals for manufacturing and initiating the manufacturing process;
  4. Continually observing and monitoring reactions according to written procedures;
  5. Controlling reactions, adjusting equipment or making additions as necessary for desired outcome, and documenting actions taken;
  6. Performing quality control tests and making adjustments as needed;
  7. Filling totes or other required packaging;
  8. Labelling products as required;
  9. Other duties as needed.

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face. As well as your verifiable high school diploma or GED, you should have solid math skills, the ability to periodically lift 55 lbs, and the ability to wear a respirator. Experience working with chemicals and driving a sit-down forklift is preferred.

Additional Information

Starting pay depends on experience, from $20/hour+. We have two day shift positions located at our Palm Commodities International, LLC facility in LaVergne, Tennessee. The facility is a Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is required.

We offer an excellent benefits package, including several health insurance options, vision insurance, dental insurance, company paid life insurance and short/long term disability insurance, voluntary critical illness and accident insurance, and a 401K Plan with employer matching and profit-sharing eligibility. Employees are also eligible for regular bonuses. We recognize 12 paid holidays per year and provide three weeks’ vacation plus one week paid sick time annually.
