Job summary

ISC Constructors, LLC in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Chemical Process Specialist to support process engineering and process safety across multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction.

You will perform process simulation, hydraulic calculations, material and energy balances, and develop PFDs and P&IDs, with relief system sizing and PHA support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Knowledge of chemical and process engineering principles.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and analyze technical information.
• Familiarity with process simulation, hydraulics, material and energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, relief systems, and process safety.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform process simulation, hydraulic calculations, and material and energy balances.
• Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Support development of process design criteria, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Prepare process information for equipment and instrumentation specifications and selection.
• Perform relief device sizing and dispersion modeling as applicable.
• Support Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other process safety activities.
• Coordinate process requirements with engineering disciplines, project teams, and clients.
• Support capital cost estimates and engineering deliverables for new construction and expansion projects.
• Support process engineering activities throughout project phases from concept through construction.

THE POSITION

ISC is seeking a Chemical Process Specialist to support process engineering and process safety activities for multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction.

This position performs process simulation, hydraulic calculations, material and energy balances, PFD and P&ID development, equipment and instrumentation specifications, relief system calculations, dispersion modeling, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) support.
