Job summary

Calumet, Inc. in Louisiana is seeking a Production Operator to handle processing of raw materials and finished products on a rotating shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with limited supervision in a team setting.

Your duties include operating forklifts, charging Premix and kettles, sampling products, recording data, maintaining logs and plant equipment, ordering supplies, and providing coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to pass written skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and environmental inspections and area housekeeping.
• Charge acids to Premix.
• Charge solids to Premix, D-Kettle, E-Kettle, and F-Kettle.
• Sample product from kettles, presses and candle filter as needed.
• Record all production/process data.
• Filter all batches and pump to storage tanks.
• Maintain filtration logs.
• Maintain intermediate tanks, lime slurry, oil skimmers, cooling towers and wastewater treatment monitoring.
• Stock lime, carbon, filter aid, and press papers.
• Clean and dress presses with filter cloths and papers.
• Assist with candle filter maintenance as needed.
• Order supplies from storeroom.
• Maintain daily check-sheets.
• Assist/complete minor maintenance repairs as needed.
• Operate a Forklift.
• Provide vacation and absenteeism coverage as needed.
