Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. is seeking a Chemical Operator to operate, handle, and maintain production equipment safely while meeting production and quality standards.

You will monitor processes, document data, perform routine maintenance, and comply with environmental, health and safety regulations. A high school diploma and at least 6 months of chemical operator experience are required; forklift experience is preferred. This is a full-time role based in the Central United States.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 6 months experience as a chemical operator or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate an industrial forklift.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Know the equipment and process operation; handle, store, transfer, and transport chemical material.
  • Control continuous and batch processes; both manual and automated operation of the process (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.) in accordance with SOPs
  • Document operating data, tests, instrument readings, shipping and receiving paperwork, plant data sheets, environmental reports, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
  • Provide routine minor maintenance to process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Apply product quality and safety standards and report any product safety incidents.
  • Adhere to SOPs and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
