Job summary

Arkema Inc. is seeking a Chemical Operator 1 for our Ashland, Ohio facility. You will perform operator duties, follow safety rules, and handle materials and equipment to support production goals.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operating lift trucks and DCS controls, and maintaining quality through sampling, labeling, and paperwork. Shift work includes 2nd/3rd shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be safety conscious, reliable and have a strong work ethic.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
• Safely operate an industrial lift truck (sit down and stand up).
• Compounding and staging of raw materials.
• Blending of chemicals and powders.
• Charging liquid chemicals and powders to mixers.
• Monitoring mixers during mixing and reaction.
• Use of distributed control systems to control and monitor process.
• Labeling and filling containers with product.
• Take samples of powder and liquids to ensure product quality, stage empty containers, maintain housekeeping.
• Safely handling industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures.
• Willing to wear PPE including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel-toed boots.
• Accurately completing shop floor paperwork in both written and electronic format.
• Use of computerized MRP system.
• Participate in company safety meetings and training.
• Work 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Work frequent overtime (12 hour shifts).
