Job summary

Eastman Longview, TX seeks an Operator Apprentice to learn the safe, reliable operation of chemical production processes at the Longview site. Under qualified trainers, you will monitor equipment from the control room and field, collect samples, and perform routine inspections while completing ongoing training.

Completion of the 3-year apprentice program is required to transition to a fully certified Operator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• At least 3 years of previous work experience OR an Associate's degree in Process Technology, Production Technology, Process Operations, Energy Systems Technology or related program required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control chemical production processes from the control room and field under direct supervision.
• Assist with starting up, running, and shutting down process equipment.
• Maintain safety and environmental compliance and document observations.
• Train on process safety management standards and equipment monitoring rounds.
• Learn to manage work permits, equipment isolation, and lockout/tagout procedures.
