Job summary

DuPont Diversified Industrials Shelter in Pennsauken, NJ is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to run assigned equipment, monitor plant metrics, and perform quality checks to meet specifications. You will follow disciplined operating procedures and gain qualification for more advanced roles.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1–2 years in chemical manufacturing, forklift experience, basic math, tape measure reading, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing/production experience in a chemical plant.
• Experience inspecting and operating mobile equipment (Fork Truck).
• Basic math skills (simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without a calculator).
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality, and operations with minimal supervision.
• Must have good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate process equipment after being fully trained and qualified.
• Monitor, collect, and input plant metrics.
• Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices without deviation.
• Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process deviations and problems.
• Perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.

DuPont Diversified Industrials - Shelter is recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator based at our Pennsauken site in Pennsauken, NJ. The Pennsauken Plant is home to the Polyiso business. Diversified Industrials Shelter is a leading provider of engineered products and integrated systems for the construction market.

The Chemical Process Operator, operates assigned equipment or areas of the Plant. The Chemical Process Operator performs in any combination of required tasks associated with safe and efficient operation, performs operations related activities as per Master Task List, and performs quality checks to keep product within the quality specification required. There is a clear progression path to reach higher levels as an operator.

As a Chemical Process Operator, you will:

• Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices without deviation.
• Operate process equipment after being fully trained and qualified.
• Monitor, collect, and input plant metrics.
• Use trouble shooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
• Perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.

Requirement:

• A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1-2 years' manufacturing/production technician experience in a chemical plant.
• Experience inspecting, and operating mobile equipment (i.e. fork truck)
• Basic math skills (simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without a calculator)
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality, and operations with minimal amount of supervision.
• Must have good computer skills.

You must be willing and able to:

• work in a team atmosphere and help other teams in time of need.
• work 10 hour shifts with occasional mandatory overtime. The OT may sometimes be on short notice.
• wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) including a respirator when needed.
• lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• work in confined spaces.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Experience doing lockouts i.e. isolating hazardous energy sources.
• Advanced degree beyond High School (Associate, Bachelor, etc.) from an accredited program
• Valid US Driver's license

This role is located in Pennsauken, NJ and may require less than 5% of travel
