Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials operates a 24/7 Metropolis site manufacturing Uranium Hexafluoride (UF6) as part of the nuclear fuel conversion cycle. The Chemical Process Engineer II will provide technical leadership to ensure quality, cost and efficiency targets are met while driving safety and process improvements across the facility.

The role requires a chemical/ mechanical engineering background with a minimum of two years in chemical process environments and at least one year in production or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (or mechanical)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical industry
• Minimum of 1 year in a production or process engineering role within a chemical facility

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot daily process issues and drive improvements
• Lead root cause analysis and implement changes/control plans
• Participate in site HSE and Process Safety Management programs
• Identify and monitor KPIs to sustain optimal plant operations
• Collaborate with site engineers to implement innovative engineering solutions
• Mentor and train operations staff on unit design and operation
• Engage on the floor with front-line workers to find solutions
• Utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools to drive improvements
• Develop scopes of work for capital projects
