Job summary

Energy Talent Search is partnering with an Houston-based engineering firm to hire a Chemical/Process Engineer. The role covers concept design, FEED, detailed engineering, construction support, startup, and commissioning for chemical and petrochemical facilities.

You will develop PFDs and P&IDs, run heat/material balances and simulations with Aspen HYSYS/Aspen Plus/ProMax, and perform hydraulic sizing and safety evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM or similar project-design environments.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or similar process-industry projects.
• Strong fundamentals in heat and material balances, process simulations, hydraulics, and equipment sizing.
• Experience developing and reviewing PFDs and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with process-safety methods (HAZOP/LOPA/SIL).

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and supporting process documentation.
• Perform heat and material balances and process simulations.
• Conduct hydraulics calculations, line sizing, and pressure-drop studies.
• Size and specify process equipment and prepare datasheets.
• Support process safety reviews (HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Provide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning.
