Job summary

Synthomer is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer at our Mogadore, Ohio site to provide technical guidance for daily plant production and drive continuous improvement. You will work with the production team to achieve safety, quality and productivity goals, support scale-up efforts, and lead capital projects in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 3–5 years of related experience, and strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Advanced problem solving and facilitation skills – ability to critically think and make things happen.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to flex shift and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance of daily plant production processes.
• Serves as a technical expert on the production team.
• Actively engages with operators and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient production activities.
• Identifies production related safety, quality, and process improvement opportunities, prioritizing and implementing actions.
• Drives continuous improvement to deliver production results.
• Supports and participates in plant safety activities and training.
• Provides troubleshooting for production issues and alarms with the production team.
• Participates in Management of Change (MOC) processes including procedure updates and hazard evaluation.
• Develops and maintains production procedures and training materials for safe manufacturing practices.
• Acts as the technical expert for production activities and owns improvement and capital projects.

Education
