Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a global chemical manufacturing company with operations in Rock Hill, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Chemical Operator to join a team focused on safe and efficient production processes.

About Our Client: Our client is a global manufacturer of specialty chemicals with multiple divisions and facilities across the United States. They focus on developing technical solutions for customers across various industries and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence.

Position Overview: The Chemical Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring chemical processes and equipment at the Rock Hill facility. This position requires careful attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, reliable, and have experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Document operating and quality conditions of plant equipment and processes
  • Notify appropriate personnel when operating and quality conditions are not met
  • Transfer materials into or out of drums, bags, tankers, railcars and other containers
  • Move and connect chemical hoses to pumps, reactors, tanks, and other equipment
  • Maneuver drums and containers weighing up to 550 lbs. for filling and storage
  • Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment such as tanks, pipes, hoses, and pumps
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals
  • Complete all required safety training, including confined space training
  • Follow strict safety protocols and procedures at all times
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe manner

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical plant experience )
  • At least 18 years of
  • Strong safety and awareness
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and complete required reports and documents
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and math
  • Forklift operation skills
  • Physical ability to climb and work from stairs, ladders, and elevated positions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move equipment for extended periods

Work Schedule & Physical Requirements:

  • 12-hour rotating shifts (7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM) on a 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on/off alternating)
  • Training period of Monday-Friday daytime hours
  • Ability to lift more than 55 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching
  • Exposure to chemicals and outdoor weather conditions
  • Occasional work in elevated places
