Qualifications

Position Summary:

The Filling and Packaging Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating liquid filling and packaging lines, including equipment like scales, cappers, and inkjet coders. They ensure quality control, perform routine mechanical adjustments, and maintain accurate production records.

Schedule: 2pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday

What you will do as a Filling & Packaging Operator I:
  • Operate manual liquid filling machine, scales, seater, capper, valves cap torquer, hoses, inkjet coding, equipment.
  • Monitor components to the line and all liquid filling line equipment.
    • Make hookups from different lines.
  • Outine mechanical adjustments to filling line equipment during line change over.
  • Perform necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in written/electronic formats.
  • Set up of filling and packaging lines which consists of the sponges, pouches, vials, caps, labels, inkjet code dater.
    • Check weights in accordance with product requirements.
  • Manage inventory of packaging supplies/other materials for the packaging line and notify supervisor as needed.
  • Control the flow of the packaging line by using appropriate hookups and operation control panels.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production schedules as outlined by supervision.
  • Ensure all equipment on the filling line is working and assist maintenance as necessary.
  • Palletize products and store them in appropriate location.
  • Exercise extreme caution while operating moving equipment and have the safety of fellow employees at the forefront of everything you do.
  • Use proper filling, sealing, weighing, capping, casing labeling, and inkjet (coding of all products).
  • Setup and adjustment of equipment when changing over various size containers on the filling lines.
  • Adjust weights for various size containers on the filling lines as needed.
  • Record and submit daily production along with other appropriate documentation as required by management.
  • Keep equipment and surrounding work area neat, tidy and disinfected at all times.
  • Accurately label containers according to use or contents.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

Required:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.

Basic math, writing and data entry skills.

  • Ability to work minimal supervision.

Ability to read scales and dials.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Preferred:

Previous experience working within chemical filling and/or liquid filling& packaging areas.

Experience working with gauges, scales, auto fillers, sealers, capping, casing, labeling etc. equipment.

Ability to quickly convert measurements.

Familiarity and experience working in/with PPE.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Other:

May be expected to move, carry, and lift approximately 40 pounds.
