Job summary

CHT USA Inc. is seeking a dedicated Chemical Operator (GMP I) in Michigan to operate equipment and semi-automatic systems for chemical processing in a cGMP area.

This role emphasizes accuracy in batch documentation, safety, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of chemical operator experience, forklift certification or ability to obtain, and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a chemical operator or related field.
• Forklift certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Office.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build production batches in a cGMP area, following Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Read, fill out, and maintain batch documentation accurately.
• Load/offload chemicals, operate pumps and filters, monitor temps and run speeds.
• Conduct in-process testing and maintain a safe, organized workspace; interface with QC lab and R&D.
• Train colleagues and uphold CHT standards for quality, safety and environment.
• Support customer service and production planning, fostering a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build production batches in a cGMP area, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Accurately read, fill out, and maintain all batch documentation.
• Load and offload chemicals, operate pumps and filters, and monitor temperature and run speeds.
• Conduct in-process testing and maintain a safe, organized work area.
  Interact with QC lab and R&D teams, troubleshoot basic equipment, and implement corrective actions to eliminate operating errors.
• Train other employees in the production area and maintain CHT standards for quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
• Support customer service and production planning as necessary, while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a chemical operator or in a related field.
• Certified to drive a forklift (or ability to obtain certification within 90 days).
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
• Familiarity with ERP solutions (SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, etc.) is a plus.

• Knowledge of OSHA’s PSM standards and handling hazardous materials.
