Job summary

Umicore in Port Allen, LA is seeking a manufacturing operator to support cobalt and specialty materials production. You will prepare chemicals, perform quality checks, package products, and assist with routine maintenance in a fast-paced plant environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, strong math skills, be able to lift 70 lbs, and wear a respirator. Forklift experience and an Associate Process Technology degree are preferred.

• Strong math skills and ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Ability to wear a respirator in an industrial setting.
• Forklift driving experience is a plus; comparable training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chemicals for manufacturing and start the manufacturing process.
• Sample and perform quality control tests.
• Package, label, and prepare products for shipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
• Other duties as required.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing chemicals for manufacturing and initiating the manufacturing process;
• Sampling and performing quality control tests;
• Packaging, labelling, and preparing products for shipment;
• Performing routine maintenance tasks; and,
• Other duties as needed.

Who We Are Looking For

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face. As well as your verifiable high school diploma or GED, you should have strong math skills, the ability to periodically lift 70 lbs, and the ability to wear a respirator. Experience working in an industrial settling or with chemicals, driving a forklift, and an Associate Process Technology degree is preferred, although comparable training and experience will be accepted.

Additional Information

Two rotating shifts 5AM-1PM, 1PM-9PM five days a week. Weekends and holidays off work.
