USALCO is a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, catalyst production for oil refining, the housing market, and other sectors. The Chemical Operator reports to the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor, depending on shift allocation. The role requires a detail-oriented, self-starting individual who:

1. Incorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing daily tasks.
2. Can efficiently operate and maintain chemical processes and equipment to meet manufacturing specifications and maximize productivity without compromising safety or quality.
3. Actively seeks process improvements and collaborates with management and peers to implement approved changes promptly.

The ideal candidate must be positive, task-oriented, with chemical manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and computer literacy. They should be motivated to work constructively with team members at all levels, execute responsibilities with urgency, support plant and business initiatives, and strive to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities include manufacturing, equipment maintenance, testing, loading/unloading, and using company computer systems.

Essential Functions

• Operate chemical processes and equipment safely to produce quality products.
• Follow all safety rules, work guidelines, and procedures.
• Recommend and implement process, equipment, and procedural improvements.
• Maintain daily QC data and process samples.
• Use computers for quality control, inventory, and documentation.
• Perform physical labor as needed.
• Work rotating shifts as required.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and operational status of process areas, laboratories, and equipment.
• Unload railcars, load tankers, and prepare shipments.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
• Support production across departments.
• Develop and apply process and equipment improvements.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience.
• Preferred 3-5 years in chemical manufacturing.
• Basic college coursework in math, chemistry, and statistics.
• Can-do attitude, team player, high standards of performance.
