What's a typical day as a Chemical Production Operator? You'll be:
- Operating and controlling process equipment such as reactors, dryers, hoppers, packaging technology, valves, and vents
- Loading and staging raw materials to production equipment and production areas
- Performing weighing operations, including gross vs net weight calculations
- Packaging intermediates and final products using both automated and manual equipment
- Following batch sheet SOPs and quality standards, including monitoring cycle time, temperature, flow rate, and raw materials
- Using computer and control room systems to direct processes and/or people
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment per company and OSHA standards
- Performing quality control sampling of in-process materials
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have previous experience in a production or chemical manufacturing environment (highly preferred)
- Are able and willing to work a rotating shift schedule including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends
- Can read, speak, understand, and follow written instructions in English
- Have basic computer skills (Word, Excel preferred)
- Are comfortable working in environments with moving mechanical parts and chemicals, and occasionally outdoors
- Are able to follow OSHA standards for wearing a respirator (must be clean-shaven except for a mustache)
- Have previous forklift experience (preferred)
- Are able to work overtime as needed
- Can follow safety procedures for confined space and lockout/tagout (LOTO)
