Job summary

Advansix is seeking a Chemical Loading Operator in Virginia to join a rotating shift team. You will safely transfer liquid bulk chemical products to and from tank trucks and railcars, following standard work and procedures to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

You must operate heavy equipment safely and work with hazardous chemical intermediates while wearing full PPE. The role requires adaptability to changing plant priorities and the ability to load/unload cargo and work in a team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication and computer skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, and/or chemical plant environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to standard work and standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality and production goals are met.
• Operate heavy equipment safely.
• Load and unload bulk liquid chemical trucks and rail cars.
• Work in full PPE including acid suit, respirator and hood.
• Manage changing plant priorities and site needs.

Position Summary

The Chemical Loading Operator works as part of a rotating shift team and is responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of liquid bulk chemical products to and from tank trucks and railcars.

Summary of the Main Responsibilities

• Adhere to standard work and standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality and production goals are met
• Responsible for safely operating heavy equipment
• The ability to handle and work with highly hazardous chemical intermediates
• Ability to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket & acid pants) - full face respirator and hood
• Ability to handle changing plant priorities and site needs
• Ability to load and unload bulk liquid chemical trucks and rail cars

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, and/or chemical plant environment preferred

The hourly rate for this position is $20.32
