Job summary

eTeam in Geismar, LA is hiring a Chemical Lab Technician I for a 6‑month contract. This 24 hours/week, onsite role focuses on packaging and shipping samples and analyzing materials to ensure product quality.

You will generate quality data, collaborate with Lab Supervisor and Production personnel, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement using LabWare, Lotus Notes and SAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year associate's degree in chemistry or 2-year technical degree in analytic testing preferred.
• 0–2 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing lab.
• Basic understanding of lab instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Package and ship samples to customers, sites, and third party labs.
• Analyze raw materials, intermediates, finished products and other chemical samples against specifications.
• Provide quality data and suggest improvements for lab and plant processes.
• Use software tools (Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, MS Office) to enhance quality reporting.

Job Title: Chemical Lab Technician I

Location: Geismar, LA 70734 - 100% onsite

Duration: 6 months contract

Shift: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

Part-time role, 3 days, total 24 hours per week - 8 hours a day

Job Description:

Primary responsibility will be packaging and shipping samples to customers, other sites and third party laboratories utilizing specific software.

Analyze raw materials, intermediate products, finished products and other chemical samples and evaluate suitability according to established specifications to ensure quality and availability of final product.

Analyze samples, provide quality data and become an active member along with the Lab Supervisor and Production personnel to provide innovative ideas to improve lab and plant processes and demonstrate continuous improvement.

Know, understand and use software tools such as Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, Microsoft Office Programs, etc. which enhance quality reporting.

Education:

Minimum 2-year associate's degree in chemistry or 2-year technical degree in analytical testing in Chemistry or related field is preferred.

Experience:

0 - 2 years’ experience working in a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment.

Basic understanding of general chemistry.

Basic understanding of theory, operation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatographs, viscometers, spectrophotometers, pH meters, titrators, etc.

Basic understanding of the techniques of quality assurance and quality control.

Know, understand and use software tools such as Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, Microsoft Office Programs, etc. which enhance quality reporting.
