We are currently seekingChemical & Hazardous Materials Handler to support our operations in Concord, California.

Under minimal supervision, the Chemical & Hazardous Materials Handler is responsible for the safe handling, dispensing, labeling, inventory, transportation, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. This position plays a critical role in supporting production operations, maintaining safety compliance, and contributing to environmental stewardship at our Concord, CA facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Chemical Management & Dispensing

  • Receive, store, label, and deliver chemicals to designated production areas
  • Dispense chemicals into authorized, properly labeled containers
  • Maintain chemical inventory records and communicate material availability to manufacturing teams
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and segregation of raw materials and hazardous waste
  • Collect and transport hazardous waste from accumulation areas to the designated storage area
  • Label, profile, and prepare hazardous waste materials for compliant off-site shipment
  • Coordinate waste pickups with qualified TSDF vendors and maintain shipment records
  • Conduct daily inspections of hazardous storage areas to prevent unsafe storage or environmental exposure
Support & Facility Duties
  • Respond to chemical spills, leaks, or reactions and notify EH&S Coordinator promptly
  • Perform equipment prep tasks including securing drums, attaching pumps, and grounding containers
  • Operate material handling equipment including drum crushers and transfer pumps
  • Recover and prepare gold scrap from EBEAM/EVAP equipment for reclaim
  • Provide logistical support across the facility including delivery of water, copy paper, lab debris, recycling, and ITAR scrap tracking
  • Support light janitorial duties and routine housekeeping in chemical areas
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2–4 years of experience handling chemicals or hazardous materials in a manufacturing, laboratory, or environmental services environment
  • General knowledge of chemical compatibility, environmental safety standards, and hazardous materials handling protocols
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to safely lift and move containers (drums, buckets, boxes, etc.)
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process adherence
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and organized work environment
  • Familiarity with EH&S regulations and ITAR compliance is a plus
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • U.S. Person status required due to ITAR regulations (citizen or lawful permanent resident)
  • Pre-Employment Screening: Must successfully pass a criminal background check and multi-panel drug screening prior to employment
  • Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and RCRA regulations for hazardous materials handling and transportation
Separate from employment eligibility (Form I-9), U.S. export license requirements may apply before the Company can provide certain non- “U.S. persons” with access to specific technology, software and hardware that may be necessary for a position. As such, this position may require ITAR or EAR clearance.

The hourly range for this role is $25.00-$30.00 per hour.
