Job summary

Kuraray America, Inc. is seeking a Spring/Summer 2027 Chemical Engineering Intern to join the Bayport Production Engineering team in Pasadena, TX. The intern will split time between a major project and daily tasks, gaining hands-on experience in production, process safety, and environmental support.

The program runs for 13 weeks with full-time hours, mentoring from experienced engineers, and exposure to real-world engineering challenges in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
• Completed at least two years of college with three engineering classes.
• Strong academic performance (GPA 3.0/4.0) and leadership.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the program.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nuisance alarms management and CAMS database usage.
• Support implementation and troubleshooting of advanced operating graphics.
• Provide technical assistance in root cause analysis for production incidents.
• Assist in digitalization, process optimization and cost-reduction efforts.
• Participate in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving for production issues.
• Engage in environmental and safety activities.
• Interact daily with production personnel and coordinate cross-department tasks.
