• Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes and develop solutions.
• Conduct tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure quality.
• Determine appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials.
• Design and direct testing or control of processing procedures.
• Determine methods for fabrication and joining of materials.
• Evaluate technical specifications and economic factors for process or product design.
• Monitor material performance and evaluate deterioration.
• Plan and implement laboratory operations for developing material and fabrication procedures.
• Review new product plans and recommend manufacturability while meeting design objectives.
• Potentially supervise a crew of hourly employees.
• Support business with various other duties as assigned.
