Job summary

General Matter is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to design, instrument, and build advanced lab capabilities supporting next-generation enrichment tech. You will work with experienced engineers and scientists on hands-on tasks across laboratory systems, analytical methods, and specialized equipment.

Qualifications

• Undergrad/grad student in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Familiar with ICP‑MS, TIMS, SIMS and analytical instrumentation.
• Proficient in wet chemistry: digestion, titration, precipitation.

Responsibilities

• Assist mass spectrometry analysis (ICP‑MS, TIMS, SIMS).
• Support chemical process monitoring for fuel cycle materials safety and quality.
• Develop and validate sample prep, digestion, and separation techniques for nuclear material analysis.
• Interpret mass spectrometry results with process engineers to optimize operations.
• Maintain adherence to radiation protection and chemical safety protocols.
• Support projects aimed at improving fuel cycle efficiency and waste minimization.
