Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking a motivated engineering co-op to join our Bridgestone West program. You will gain hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to process improvements on the manufacturing floor.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Chemical Engineering or Materials Science degrees, with CAD/AutoCAD coursework and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related major.
• Junior–senior level standing with GPA at least 3.0 and CAD/AutoCAD coursework completed.
• Available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6-month minimum co-op assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support specifications and standards in areas such as compound, component, curing process, or uniformity analyses
• Apply a systematic approach to identify and isolate problems and their root causes to design and implement effective solutions
• Statistical analysis and data collection through software such as Minitab
• Determine methods and technology to convert inputs into acceptable outputs with process capability
• Learn and utilize key chemical manufacturing tools and systems; recommending improvements where needed
• Apply interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with fellow teammates and achieve common goals
• Work in a hands-on environment with cross functional teams, at least 50% on floor
• Utilize project management skills to develop, manage, and control scope, schedule and cost
