Job summary

Bayer in Missouri is offering a co-op role to integrate and develop data analytics workflows for biopharmaceutical processes. You will evaluate machine learning methods, support process understanding, monitoring, and optimization in GMP manufacturing environments.

The role requires a PhD-track candidate with strong programming skills (Python, R) and familiarity with cloud environments. Spring and Fall co-op dates are provided, with on-site work in Missouri.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program with a focus in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or (Bio)Statistics.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or (Bio)Statistics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team and cross-functional environments.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new topics.
• Programming experience in multiple languages (Python, R).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document software applications and methods to enhance advanced data analytics.
• Apply machine learning and advanced statistical methods for process understanding, monitoring, and optimization.
• Create data analysis workflows for mining, preprocessing, and visualization of data.
• Develop code in Python, R, and other environments.
• Support mining of process data from IT systems and databases.
• Collaborate with data scientists on bioprocess monitoring and process improvements.
• Document project outcomes in concise technical reports.

Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
