Position Title: Process Chemical Lead / Owner’s Representative

Location: Primarily Remote (Onsite in Boise, ID – 50% of first month, then one week per month)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

As the Facilities Chemical Engineering Owner’s Representative, you will support projects that are critical to our client's advanced manufacturing operations in Boise, ID. In this role, you will act on behalf of the client to review and comment on designs, specifications, and drawings, ensuring alignment with technical and operational requirements. You will be a key point of contact between the client and site personnel, helping to drive design and construction document reviews in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders to define design requirements and produce construction documents related to complex manufacturing tools and mechanical systems infrastructure.
  • Provide technical oversight on process chemical engineering design, focusing on equipment piping for water, wastewater, process chemicals, and gases within highly complex and compact industrial facilities.
  • Participate in retrofit designs for existing building systems, including engineering calculations, equipment/component sizing and selection, specification development, and construction support.
  • Serve as the chemical engineering representative on a multidisciplinary design team.
  • Review and edit client specifications, and evaluate design packages including P&IDs, layout drawings, details, and equipment plans.
  • Provide reviews for submittals, respond to RFIs, and oversee construction documentation to ensure compliance with design intent and safety standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in chemical facilities engineering, including expertise in ultrapure water, chemical and gas distribution systems, process piping, exhaust systems, plumbing, waste drains, pumps, and chemical tank storage/design.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing design project delivery processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and lead effectively.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools (e.g., installation, operation, or manufacturing in cleanroom environments).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with a drive for continuous learning and innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire new technical knowledge.
  • Passion for the building and construction industry.
  • At least 3 years of field experience.
  • EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Other Requirements

Work Authorization:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to conduct field visits at active construction sites.
  • Ability to walk long distances and navigate various construction environments, including ladders, catwalks, confined spaces, and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs.
