Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Chemical Engineer Co-op/Intern in New Jersey to gain hands-on experience in a global leader. You’ll support projects across production, process engineering, and control systems, applying classroom knowledge to real-world operations.

You’ll work with mentors, contribute to safety and environmental improvements, and develop practical skills in process modeling, optimization, and technical troubleshooting while exploring a range of engineering disciplines during spring,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operation and optimization of an existing unit.
• Identify and implement improvements to plant safety, environmental, and profitability performance.
• Evaluate and develop major projects and debottlenecks; serve as a technical resource.
• Develop, refine, and support process models and control schemes.
• Provide technical support to polyolefin customers and contribute to innovation.
