Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Chemical Engineer for a contract role in San Antonio, TX to support data compilations, report generation, and pilot plant operations.

You will build reports for plant runs, assist with lab-scale experiments, and coordinate with operators on shifts. Proficiency in MS Office and CAD tools like AutoCAD/Autoplant/SolidWorks is expected, along with strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Must be able to multi-task and perform thermo calculations while building process systems.
• Experience with P&ID and BOM preferred.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Autoplant, SolidWorks, Viso, and MS Office.
• Shift work required; must be flexible.
• Must be mechanically inclined and hands-on.

Description

The candidate will be responsible for processing data compilations and report generation for a petroleum pilot plant. Engineer will compile and build reports for petroleum pilot plant runs. Work with operators to generate product blends. Will utilize MS Office to generate reports and design in Autoplant/CAD. Support project by executing chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments. Buildup of the test equipment, Compile and report test data. Mechanical Aptitude is a must.

The candidate will be involved with operation of chemical pilot plant, to include troubleshooting, install of equipment, maintenance(turnaround), assist with safety procedures and operating instructions, prepare samples, and cleanup of plant. Day to day work will involve work with pumps, heat trace, high temperature oils, drum heaters, and chemicals. Will also lead operators on shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
