HukariAscendent seeks a Chemical Engineer (Level 3-5) in Oak Ridge, TN, hybrid work arrangement. The role supports the Mechanical Project Design group at Y-12, providing process design for the Lithium Processing Facility Project with scope from feasibility studies to detailed designs.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited university and at least 10 years of progressive experience in complex nuclear or chemical facilities, with ability to obtain a DOE Q

Responsibilities

• Provide process design support to the Lithium Processing Facility Project at the Plant.
• Develop flowsheets (P&IDs, block diagrams, process flow diagrams) and perform analyses and calculations.
• Prepare reports, studies, and Process Descriptions for design efforts.
• Collaborate with the Mechanical Project Design group at Y-12 on conceptual and detailed designs.
• Assist in scope definition and feasibility studies as part of project design activities.

Job Title: Chemical Engineer (Level 3-5)

Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension (immediate need; start date TBD)

Location: Oak Ridge, TN (Hybrid)

Summary:

HukariAscendent is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support the Mechanical Project Design group at Y-12. This position will provide process design support to the Lithium Processing Facility Project at the Plant. Responsibilities include participation in designs ranging from scope definition, feasibility and conceptual studies, and preliminary/detailed designs. Tasks include flowsheet development (block diagrams, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs), analyses and calculations, and preparation of reports, studies, and Process Descriptions. This position requires a Q clearance and is hybrid telework eligible.

Required Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university plus a minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience, including process design of complex nuclear or chemical facilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
