Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a seasoned Chemical Engineer near Columbia, SC to lead capital projects, design and install process systems, and support production uptime.

You will evaluate and improve processes to reduce cost, enhance safety, and boost profitability, with 5+ years in process industries, OSHA/ASME familiarity, and AutoCAD/P&ID experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and at least 5+ years in process industries.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and applying process hazard analysis tools.
• Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple concurrent projects within cost/time/quality constraints.
• Analytical problem-solving with clear written and verbal communication; able to influence at all levels.

Job description

Our client is a successful company that provides products to food manufacturers. As long as people will continue to eat, their business is recessionproof. Their location just south of Columbia South Carolina is expanding and in need of a Chemical Engineer who will

• Be responsible for managing capital projects.
• Designing and installing new systems of a process nature to improve quality, safety and output.
• Assessing, supporting and troubleshooting systems already installed and utilised for production to increase uptime.
• Evaluate and improve processes in order to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability

Base salary is expected to be in the $90K to $105K range + bonus and their full suite of corporate benefits. At first, this will be an onsite role, but as you get comfortable with it, this can evolve toward remote work.

Requirements

• Chemical Engineering Degree
• 5+ years experience in the process industries.
• Experience carrying out Risk Assessments and utilizing process hazard analysis tools.
• Should have good all round project management skills, and be able to ensure completion of multiple concurrent projects within the stated boundaries of cost, time and quality.
• Good analytical approach to problem solving coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Should have familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
• Should be able to offer expertise on process plant design, evaluation, and construction materials and methods.
• Should have working knowledge of OSHA and ASME.
• Practical knowledge of AutoCAD, in particular the production of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
