  • Collect samples of raw materials and utilities; train colleagues on techniques.

Job Title: Chemical Analyst
Job Description

The Chemical Analyst will conduct chemistry testing and equipment qualification in a timely and effective manner in accordance with standard operating procedures, regulations, and cGMPs. The role includes documenting and assessing results against specifications, and assisting in customer projects for the Chemistry Laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Review documentation and release incoming materials such as API, excipients, and processing auxiliaries.
  • Ensure project milestones for the Chemistry Laboratory are met in a timely manner, including laboratory qualifications.
  • Establish, review, and approve documentation such as SOPs.
  • Conduct, document, and assess analytical testing of raw materials, utilities, and in-process, release, and stability testing of finished products in accordance with SOPs and cGMPs/GLPs.
  • Collect samples of raw materials and utilities.
  • Train colleagues on mastered techniques in the Chemistry Laboratory.
  • Maintain the Chemistry Laboratory in a GMP state.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the external qualification and maintenance of chemical analysis instrumentation, and conduct internal qualification and maintenance of the instrumentation.
  • Review and verify analytical testing.
  • Complete Laboratory Investigations.
  • Ensure all tasks are conducted in compliance with safety, environmental protection, and cGMP regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific subject

Work Environment

The work environment involves spending 50% of the time conducting a variety of chemical tests and the other 50% on documentation reviews, managing equipment, and performing peer reviews. The company offers opportunities for growth and promotes from within. The company is opening a new site in Des Plaines next year and provides great benefits. The team size in the lab is six members. The shift is typically from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Skokie, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
