Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the Fall 2025 semester. There are openings for assisting CHEM 101 lab sections. Applicants must be pursuing an interest in the sciences; pursuing a major in chemistry or biochemistry is preferred but not required.

Chemistry & Biochemistry TAs will develop their understanding of the materials, gain knowledge of topics previously learned, build professional relationships with students, and enhance their skills as educators.

Responsibilities

• 5-8 hour/week commitment.
• Attend weekly TA meetings.
• Grade laboratory assignments promptly.
• Assist students in lab with techniques and processes.
• Potential for additional paid hours for tutoring outside lab periods, with instructor agreement.

Qualifications

You must be an enrolled Oberlin College & Conservatory student. Applicants should have earned a passing grade in CHEM 101, CHEM 103, or CHEM 102 (if taken after the placement test).
