Job Description

Under the supervision of the lead cooks and/or Sous Chef, assists with the preparation of menu items, including chopping vegetables, making salads, soups, sauces, and assembling entrees. Provides work guidance to kitchen staff to ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are met or exceeded.

  • Deliver excellent guest service in line with the Pinnacle Way. Be friendly, approachable, polite, and courteous. Seek opportunities to assist guests and team members. Respond sincerely and knowledgeably to needs and questions.
  • Learn and familiarize yourself with all Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.'s outlets and functions. Be able to answer general questions about the property.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly with a sense of urgency.
  • Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare food according to established menus.
  • Wash, slice, peel, and cut foods for cooking or serving.
  • Test foods for doneness using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods.
  • Supervise kitchen operations to ensure procedures, quality, and menu standards are followed.
  • Engage with guests at the buffet line, explaining products, asking questions, and building positive relationships.
  • Coordinate and communicate with dining room staff regarding orders.
  • Prepare food items accurately and promptly.
  • Complete all prep work as specified on prep sheets.
  • Maintain sanitation, safety, and efficiency in all areas and equipment.
  • Follow Health Department regulations regarding food handling and cleanliness.
  • Attend scheduled training programs.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
  • Pass all required tests and training to ensure effectiveness.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
  • Handle difficult guests with resilience and work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
