Job summary

Morrison Living in Modesto, CA is seeking a Chef Manager/Director to lead culinary programs, coordinate training initiatives, and support account openings with account Chefs and team members.

You will oversee menu development, cost controls, sourcing local ingredients, and ensure food safety and high service standards across all events.

The role requires a culinary degree, 5+ years of culinary experience including management, ServSafe certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or four-year culinary development experience required.
• 5+ years of relevant culinary experience; at least 1 year in culinary management.
• ServSafe Certification; knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintains high standards for all Food Programs, workplace safety and food safety.
• Demonstrates proficiency in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with local sourcing.
• Utilizes knowledge of food trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls and presentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Summary

The Chef Manager/Director will be responsible for assisting in training initiatives, food programs, special events, account openings and refreshes with account Chefs and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains high standards for all implemented Food Programs, workplace safety and food safety
• Demonstrates proficiency in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with a focus on sourcing and utilizing local food production.
• Utilizes knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Culinary Degree, or comparable four year culinary development experience
• 5 years of relevant culinary experience; At least one year of culinary management experience
• ServSafe Certification
• Working knowledge of basic kitchen operations and food safety standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
