Job summary

KIPP NYC Culinary Team in New York City is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to lead daily kitchen operations and uphold our scratch-cooking standard for student meals. You will oversee food production, supervise staff, ensure DOH compliance, and collaborate with the Head Chef to refine menus that are nutritious and kid-friendly, serving over 1,000 meals daily across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in a commercial kitchen or high-volume operation.
• Culinary degree preferred; NYC Food Protection Certificate required or obtainable.
• Experience in scratch cooking and large-scale production.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations and food production.
• Develop and refine menus featuring scratch-cooked meals.
• Coach and develop kitchen staff; ensure safety and sanitation.
• Monitor inventory, food costs, and production schedules.
• Support high-volume service and on-time meal delivery.
