Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh seeks a Chef de Cuisine to spearhead daily kitchen operations at The Commoner, our signature restaurant. You’ll lead a talented team, create innovative seasonal menus reflecting regional flavors, and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

You will collaborate with the Executive Chef, uphold high culinary and safety standards, and have the flexibility to manage broader kitchen operations as needed. This is a hands-on leadership role in a vibrant hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary school or formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef; or 3+ years as a Sous Chef in a high-volume upscale restaurant.
• Advanced knowledge of international and domestic cuisine, food handling procedures, and modern cooking techniques.
• Proficiency in sautéing, grilling, cold food prep, sauce making, and knife skills (julienne, brunoise, etc.).
• Experienced, passionate culinary leader with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of fine dining standards.
• Collaborative, professional, good communicator, and thrive under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in high-temperature environments, and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• ServSafe certification required (or willingness to obtain).
