Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining programs.
  • Assist in supervising culinary staff alongside the Culinary Director.
  • Support the preparation and execution of dining enhancement programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen and food storage areas at all times.
  • Handle opening and/or closing procedures for the kitchen.
  • Follow cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Ensure all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
  • Estimate food and supply needs and communicate with the food service team accordingly.
  • Participate in preparing and cooking meals based on recipes and menus.
  • Monitor and document food temperatures prior to service and in refrigeration units.
  • Ensure snacks and beverages are available for residents at all times.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied.
  • Assist in transporting and storing food and supplies.
  • Help in preparing and executing special events, banquets, and themed meals.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to build positive relationships, provide excellent customer service, handle multiple priorities, operate kitchen equipment safely, and follow food handling procedures.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-3 years experience as a cook in healthcare or hospitality; Serve Safe Certification.
  • Experience: Experience in healthcare or hospitality settings preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Serve Safe Certification required.
  • Physical Demands: Dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, ability to lift at least 15 lbs, push/pull carts, walk, sit, stand, and perform tasks requiring bending or reaching.
